Nam Hai Dinh Vu Port welcomes "QVS" Service of Cosco Shipping Line
On August 31, 2021, Nam Hai Dinh Vu Port successfully operated the vessel M/V CALA PAGURO V.062SN on the service route of 'QVS' with the schedule CNQZH - VNHPH - CNYPU operated by Cosco Shipping Lines.
COSCO stands for China Ocean Shipping Company Limited, is the largest shipping company in China and the third largest in the world after Maersk and MSC. Currently, Cosco shipping lines spread all over the world from domestic & continent routes including Europe, America, Asia and Africa with a fleet of 403 container ships of all types and sizes, the total transportation capacity is up to 2.2 million TEUs.
Cosco has considered Nam Hai Dinh Vu Port as a reliable destination for the 'QVS' service route, and they currently have 'JCV' service route docking at Nam Hai Dinh Vu Port from April 2021 that confirmed Nam Hai Dinh Port have the high service quality and commitments, meeting the requirements of major shipping lines in the world. This also further tightens the strategic partnership between Gemadept and Cosco Shipping Lines.

Nam Dinh Vu Port welcomes the ship M/V XIN HAI XIU V.21001WE belonging to Zhongguo Shipping Lines
Following the good news from Nam Hai Dinh Vu Port, on September 1, 2021, Nam Dinh Vu Port successfully received the ship M/V XIN HAI XIU V.21001WE on the new service route 'CV2’. The service route 'CV2' has the schedule NANSHA - SHEKOU - HAI PHONG - NANSHA operated by Zhonggu shipping company.
As a leading scale and modern port in Dinh Vu port cluster, Hai Phong, in the 3rd year of operation, Nam Dinh Vu Port is constantly improving its operation capacity, receiving new service routes from other ports and leading international shipping lines, meeting the increasingly demand cargo for import and export.
In order to continue to seize opportunities from the potential Northern market, especially after the pandemic situation is well controlled, creating a new impetus for the economy and trading activities, Gemadept is planning to urgently implement the Phase 2’s construction of Nam Dinh Vu Port cluster in Hai Phong with a scale of 22 hectares, a total investment of about VND 2,000 billion, a capacity of 600,000 TEUs, Phase 2 expects to put into operation from 2023 in order to better meet the demand for import and export of goods and the increasing volume of partner shipping lines.
Nam Dinh Vu Port achieves a new record in cargo handling capacity
Another highlight spot at Nam Dinh Vu Port, on September 6, 2021, the port achieved a new record in cargo handling capacity on board M/V MSC Lidia of MSC.
Mediterranean Shipping Company S.A. (MSC) is currently the second largest container shipping company in the world. MSC is operating a fleet of 549 ships, with a total capacity of over 3 million TEUs, accounting for about 16% of the market share in the international container shipping market. MSC's shipping lines connect to 315 ports around the world on all continents. Gemadept is honored to be a Vietnamese port operator with a good cooperative relationship with MSC during the past years.
With a total output of 2,780 TEUs operated on board M/V MSC Lidia; Loading and unloading capacity reaches 100 moves/hour (1,586 moves in 16 hours); This is an impressive milestone not only for Nam Dinh Vu Port but also for the Northern port system, it is a proud result after the effort of standardizing processes and professional coordination in operation of Nam Dinh Vu Port and Gemadept in general.
