On January 17, the Hanoi Express (German shipping line Hapag-Lloyd) arrived at Gemalink Int'l Port. This vessel has a length of 400m, a cargo capacity of 23,660 TEU, and a tonnage of 225 thousand tons, which are among the world's largest container vessels, heralding a new era in global shipping.

Hanoi Express is the first vessel named after Vietnam's capital, equipped with advanced features such as the ability to use dual fuel, running on both conventional oil and eco-friendly liquefied natural gas (LNG). environment. This technological innovation underscores Hapag-Lloyd's commitment to environmental sustainability and fuel efficiency in an industry often associated with carbon emissions.

This is the third of 12 super large container vessels of the same type from Hapag-Lloyd, built at the famous Hanwha shipyard in Korea. What makes Hanoi Express different is its special name. Of the 12 ships above, 6 vessels are named after Asian cities including Singapore, Mumbai, Manila, Busan, Bangkok, and Hanoi. This unique choice of nomenclature adds to the ship's appeal.
