Gemalink International Port continues to welcome 2 modern STS Cranes

The good news continues coming to Gemalink International Port and also Gemadept Corporation when the next two STS (ship-to-shore) cranes safely docked at Gemalink on September 11, 2020.

Two of the world's largest and most modern generation gantry cranes, similar to the pair of gantry cranes arrived and installed more than 1 month ago, carried by Dongbang Giant No. 8 ship. The production and handover of STS cranes No. 03 and 04 to Gemalink on schedule is the great efforts of the equipment supplier, experts, Board of Directors and Project Management Unit, in the context of Covid-19 pandemic.

Currently, all 4 installed STS cranes are in the testing and commissioning phase before officially being transferred technology and handed over to Gemalink. The remaining two STS cranes are rushing to complete the electrical connection, preparing for commissioning at Doosan's factory to be able to continue handing over to Gemalink in November. Gemalink is ready to operate in 2021. This is Gemadept's commitment and meaningful gift to customers and partners through a modern deep-water port with best quality service on the occasion of Gemadept's 30-year partnership and development.

With modern equipment and orientation to become a smart international port (Smart port), after completion, Gemalink will be one of top 19 seaports in the world that can accommodate largest vessels, be an important milestone of Vietnam on the global deep-water port map.
